Come Alive with your dreams for life! Take over the stage at Arlene’s and awe the audience with your unique point of view. We are now filling slots for these two areas of A Live Series:

Monologue Jam

Alive In HD

For self-initiated artists who want to perform their show and walk away with a professionally recorded video. Eliminates the cost and details of organizing a stage rental and full tech crew.

Recording production fee is $200/hr including break down time, adjustments made for different length shows. 100% of ticket sales go to artist.

Day-of tech rehearsal, light, video & sound operator, and ticket person are provided. Artist needs to provide their own stage manager, and any other design or support crew needed for their production.

For the Artist: A Black Box Stage + Tech Support + HD Recording + Sales from the Door

For the Audience: Full Bar + Casual Seating + Intimate Performances + post-show Live Music

This Sunday evening series began in June 2012 and presents sketch comedy groups, original plays, various performance acts, workshops, and serials. The theatrical performances are followed by a line-up of FirstLive bands.

Want to perform your show?

Seeking: Rehearsed & self-contained plays, performance acts, serials and audience-ready developing productions. Selected productions will have characters that bring a unique outlook on life. If your show has an edge, uses fantasy, insane imaginative coping techniques, or other personal & entertaining, thought-provoking elements, we want to hear from you.

Cost & Terms: Recording production fee is $100/hr including break down time, adjustments made for different length shows. 100% of ticket sales go to artist. Recording is available directly after your performance.

To Submit
Please send:

  • a 100 – 150 word synopsis & description of your production;
  • a short performance or rehearsal/workshop history of the production;
  • List of characters, cast & crew;
  • Contact person’s name, phone number and email address;
  • Optional: website link, Facebook page, or other;
  • Optional: 1 – 2 links to video or clips that best present your show; and/or
  •  any questions

The Audio and Video team is composed of 3 people: 2 videographers and 1 studio engineer

Video: 1080p HD recording with stereo audio mix from Logic
Each performer will receive a 3 camera shoot: 1 Camera is stationary and is setup center/rear, near the soundbooth.  The other cameras are operated by a videographers: 1 camera is setup Stage Right, the other Stage Left.  An MPEG-4 of the performance will be available immediately after.
